The Mossos d'Esquadra police force registered a total of 153 missing person reports in the central police region during 2025, averaging one case every 48 hours.

Marking the Day of Missing Persons without Apparent Cause, authorities revealed that 3,682 reports were filed across Catalonia. Despite the numbers, 98% of cases are successfully resolved, with half being closed within the first three days.
Data shows a 3.3% rise in disappearances of minors aged 13 to 17 and a 6.4% increase among those over 65. Conversely, cases involving adults aged 18 to 64 saw a 6.5% decrease.

"One should not wait 24 hours to report a disappearance. Protocol activation is immediate, and the first hours are crucial."
