Civil Protection has declared the end of the alert from the Special Plan for External Emergency of the Chemical Sector of Catalonia (PLASEQCAT) in Manresa, which was activated due to a chlorine reaction at the Aqualimp company.

The incident occurred at 7:06 AM in the Bufalvent industrial estate. An exothermic reaction in an external container, holding residues of pool chemicals and other substances, generated a toxic cloud. As a precautionary measure, access to the area was restricted, and nearby businesses and the schools in Castellgalí and Sant Vicenç de Castellet were ordered to shelter in place.
The swift response from emergency teams has successfully controlled the situation and deactivated the alert, thereby minimizing risks to the public and the environment.
