A deflagration in a chemical laboratory at the Eurecat technology center in Manresa led to the building's evacuation and left two people injured this Monday morning.

The incident was reported at 11:43 AM. As a result of the explosion, two individuals were affected. One was treated on-site and discharged with a minor prognosis. The other person was transported by the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) to Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Manresa with a less serious prognosis.
The exact causes of the deflagration have not yet been determined. The explosion caused material damage to a partition wall and the false ceiling of the laboratory. However, initial inspections have confirmed no structural damage to the building, ensuring its integrity.
Following the initial assessments, employees were allowed to re-enter the building to retrieve personal belongings. Emergency teams continue to inspect the remaining facilities, with particular focus on chemical storage and materials, to ensure complete safety of the area.
Six units from the Bombers de la Generalitat, including a specialized chemical accident unit, as well as officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra, were dispatched to the scene. The SEM mobilized a total of five ambulances to manage the situation.
