The artificial intelligence tourism platform Wowist, co-founded by Sergi Quinto from Manresa, was awarded Best AI for Tourism at Fitur 2026 for its innovative chatbot project designed for Manresa.

The winning project consists of an audiovisual AI chatbot that uses the figure of Saint Ignatius of Loyola as a tourist guide for Manresa. This tool allows for the hyperrealistic recreation of historical episodes, such as the Burning of the Sealed Paper, making them accessible and attractive to visitors exploring the emblematic sites of the Bages capital.
Wowist, led by Sergi Quinto, presented its platform at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), the sector's most influential event, held in Madrid. The recognition for Best AI for Tourism is granted by Segittur, the state society dedicated to promoting innovation in tourism, and Fitur itself.

This AI platform is applicable to many other municipalities, where the chatbot could be Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona or Leonardo da Vinci in Italy.

The potential of this technology is extensive, as the model is replicable to other historical figures and locations. In addition to the Manresa project, Wowist has also produced an AI video to promote the Ignatian Way (Camí Ignasià), also presented at Fitur.
The company's co-founding team includes Albert Vergés (Creative Director) and Mauricio Aranda (Technology Director). The award was presented by Laura Flores, Director of Business Development and New Technologies at Segittur.
