Sixth-grade students from Ítaca school performed the children's opening proclamation for the Festa de la Llum in Manresa this Friday, held at the City Hall assembly hall.

The event officially launched the Festa de la Llum 2026 celebrations. The young performers used humor and creativity to recount the construction of the Séquia canal and the Mystery of Light, pivotal 14th-century local historical events. The play featured the architect Guillem Catà and paid tribute to the Foto Art Manresa association.

"You have highlighted the bravery of people from the 14th century who were an inspiration for new generations."

Marc Aloy Guàrdia · Mayor of Manresa
Bernat Bozzo Closas, president of Foto Art Manresa, encouraged the children to explore photography during the organization's 50th anniversary. The ceremony concluded with traditional songs and the signing of the Book of Honor.
