The Junts per Manresa municipal group has revealed that the urbanization works for the Pont Nou industrial estate in Manresa will cost 1.58 million euros more than originally budgeted.

According to Ramon Bacardit, president of the municipal group, the local government approved a project modification during the last City Council meeting that represents an 11% increase. This change follows an increase in costs totaling 4.64 million euros, partially offset by 3.06 million in reductions.

"This increase is not neutral. It directly affects the sector and the owners, further aggravating the economic inviability that this area has been dragging along."

The technical report attributes the higher costs to requirements from Endesa and Adif, as well as project deficiencies regarding walls and the relocation of the Baseball Field. Junts claims the project was tendered while incomplete and lacks economic rationality.
