A joint operation involving the Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra took place in Artés on Saturday afternoon to stop a man with psychiatric problems walking down Rocafort Street carrying a knife.

The incident occurred at 5:19 PM on Saturday, when officers received a call about an agitated person in the public road. The deployment focused on Rocafort Street, near the old Cal Cordé inn and the intersection leading to the Plaça de l'Església.
Sources from the Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed that the man had been diagnosed with psychiatric problems and was in an altered state. Thanks to the swift action of the security forces, the individual was calmed down and contained without any personal injuries occurring.
Subsequently, the man was taken away by a SEM ambulance to receive appropriate medical attention. Due to the operation, which took place in the town center of Artés, traffic on the street had to be cut off for approximately half an hour, diverting vehicles towards the Passeig Diagonal.
