The Forest Science and Technology Center of Catalonia (CTFC) and Agrotecnio have acquired an advanced drone with LiDAR technology to boost agricultural research in Solsonès.

This new tool uses laser sensors to create high-precision 3D models of crops and forests. The project was funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya through the CERCAGINYS III program.

"This system places us at the level of the best European partners in agricultural research and forest management."

Jordi Voltas · Scientific lead of the project
The equipment will be key for detecting water stress and pests, as well as monitoring forest evolution in the face of climate change and wildfire risks.
