The city of Manresa held a funeral service this Monday for Jaume Sensat Paset, who died on Saturday at 95 years old after decades of community service.

Originally from Tordera, Sensat moved to Manresa in 1968. He became deeply involved in progressive church movements and played a vital role during the Spanish Transition, helping to establish the first local democratic social structures.
His extensive legacy includes serving as the first president of the Plaça Catalunya i Saldes neighborhood association and leading the Manresa Red Cross from 1989 to 1991. He was also instrumental in supporting the Ampans foundation and the La Flama school cooperative.

"He was a person who stood out above all for his kindness. He was honest, devoted to his family, and intensely generous."
