To mark World Water Day, a public tour of the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (ETAP) showed how water from the Séquia canal is processed. The facility serves Manresa and 12 other municipalities in the Bages and Moianès regions, covering a population of 130,000 people.
“"The water undergoes so many controls that when it comes out of the tap, it is absolutely safe for consumption."
The plant processes 19,000 m3 of water daily using disinfection, decantation, and sand filtration. The company is currently utilizing Next Generation funds to implement digital sensors and remote monitoring systems to enhance efficiency and real-time quality tracking.
