The utility company Aigües de Manresa opened the Can Font treatment plant this Sunday to demonstrate the rigorous safety protocols that ensure tap water is perfectly safe for consumption.

To mark World Water Day, a public tour of the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (ETAP) showed how water from the Séquia canal is processed. The facility serves Manresa and 12 other municipalities in the Bages and Moianès regions, covering a population of 130,000 people.

"The water undergoes so many controls that when it comes out of the tap, it is absolutely safe for consumption."
