Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are profoundly transforming the field of cybersecurity and other public services. The DigiCanvis Observatory helps city councils learn about innovative experiences and best practices from other administrations to adapt them to their own realities.
As part of the Innovation Caravan organized by the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Manresa City Council has shared several AI projects aimed at improving municipal services. A notable example is a tool for the automatic classification of complaints and suggestions.
During the development process, the Manresa team learned, through the Observatory, about the Girona City Council's experience in automatically classifying generic instances using AI. Girona employed a different, simpler technical approach that yielded better results in initial tests.
This interaction helped the Manresa City Council to validate its approach and explore alternative models. The two city councils connected, exchanged information on how their solutions worked, and shared their acquired learnings.
