The Manresans Forans collective has announced that this Saturday's meeting in Manresa will be the last in its history, ending 50 years of uninterrupted tradition.

Representatives Francesc Serra Feu and Montserrat Vergé Grau confirmed the decision this Tuesday at the Auditori de la Plana. The main reason for the closure is the lack of generational renewal, as the descendants of current members were not born in the capital of Bages.

"Distance does not break bonds because the roots are very deep."

During the Festa de la Llum celebrations, the group urged Manresa City Council to find ways to keep the legacy alive. One proposal suggests that the municipal company Manresana d'Actius Turístics, Museus i Fires manage a new group for residents abroad.
