The city of Manresa will host the twenty-ninth edition of the Fira de l'Aixada on February twenty-eighth and March first with new routes and venues in the historic center.

The Fira de l'Aixada in Manresa is preparing for a transition edition full of novelties, taking place on February 28 and March 1. This year, the event incorporates new emblematic stages such as the Gothic Hall of the Seu, the pati dels Carlins, and Serarols Square. These additions aim to boost the route through the historic center and offer new experiences to visitors.

"There are hundreds of medieval fairs in Catalonia, but in none of them is a story told like here"

Joan Orriols · President of the Associació Manresa de Festa
The main cast of the festival is also being completely renewed. The characters of King Pere III and Queen Maria de Navarra will be played by Ivan Padilla and Txell Vall. Additionally, new actors will debut in the roles of Agnès and the royal counselor Jaume Desfar, played by Lluís Roca. These changes are part of a strategy to bring a fresh perspective to the fair's theatrical performances.
The artistic direction is already working on next year's 30th edition. For this reason, this year they are testing more visual and itinerant formats. The fair will feature about 200 stalls and the involvement of more than 300 volunteers from local organizations, establishing itself as a benchmark for folk culture in the Bages region.
