More than 4,000 hikers gathered this Sunday for the 42nd Transéquia, a traditional walk following the medieval water canal from Balsareny to Manresa, marking a record attendance for the event.

Participants from all over Catalonia joined the route, which highlights the cultural and natural heritage of the Bages region. The walk concluded at L'Agulla Park, where local traditions such as the giants and the 'bous' of Santpedor welcomed the finishers after their 24-kilometer journey.
This year's edition also had a significant social impact, raising 3,033 euros for the Grief Support Service of Central Catalonia. Organizers emphasized that the event has grown beyond a local tradition, becoming a major attraction for hikers seeking a blend of landscape and community spirit.
