The transport company Monbus launched the new passenger service between Manresa and Barcelona today, January 12, promising improved frequencies and future peak hour evaluation.

The modifications in the new concession specifically target peak travel times. The direct line E22 (Barcelona-Manresa) will run every one and a half to two hours on weekdays, with reduced intervals in August. The company guaranteed that during maximum demand, two simultaneous expeditions will run to ensure “no passenger is left behind.”
Regarding line E23, which connects Monistrol de Montserrat, Olesa de Montserrat, Abrera, and Barcelona, the service will be significantly reinforced with a 15-minute frequency during morning peak hours throughout the year (except in August). Starting from the second year of the concession, Monbus plans to re-evaluate needs to continue strengthening the service.

This increase has highlighted the growing demand for bus transport and the necessity to expand the service.

Improvements also focus on passenger information. The new Monbus application (compatible with Android and iOS) allows real-time consultation of bus locations and waiting times. Furthermore, dynamic information panels (PIU) will be installed at stops and screens inside the vehicles.
The fleet will maintain an average age of under two and a half years, offering Wi-Fi connection and accessibility for people with reduced mobility. CCTV video surveillance and driving assistance systems, such as the ABA 6, are also incorporated to enhance safety.
