The athlete from Manresa, Mònica Clemente, set a new absolute Catalan pole vault record this Saturday by clearing 4.46 meters during the national short track championships in Valencia.

Representing Valencia Club Atlético, Clemente improved her own personal best by one centimeter. Her previous record of 4.45 meters had stood since 2018. This performance also established a new championship record, surpassing the 4.42 meters previously set by Andrea San José in Barcelona.
The competition saw Clemente dominate the field, as her closest rivals failed to exceed 4.10 meters. After securing the victory and the regional record, she made three unsuccessful attempts at the Spanish national record of 4.57 meters, citing physical fatigue after a long day of competition.
