The accident occurred at kilometer point 134.8 of the C-25, heading towards Girona, near the Parc de l'Agulla. The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) received the alert at 8:25 PM on Thursday.
For reasons still under investigation by the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), the motorcyclist fell onto the road surface and violently impacted the safety barrier, resulting in his death.
The deceased victim was a 40-year-old man, a resident of Vall d’en Bas, according to data provided by the Catalan Traffic Service.
Following the incident, three patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra, one unit of the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters), and two units of the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were deployed to the scene.
With this fatality, four people have now died on Catalan roads since the beginning of the year, according to provisional data from the SCT.
