The Aerobiological Network of Catalonia (XAC) reported this Tuesday that the Bages region is facing a particularly challenging allergy season due to high winter rainfall and rising temperatures.

According to experts from UAB, the combination of a wet winter and a warm spring has created a 'dangerous cocktail' for allergy sufferers. Pollen levels for species such as cypress and parietaria have already seen a sudden spike since mid-February.
The forecast indicates that plane trees and grasses will pollinate heavily in the coming weeks. Due to the predicted rains, the season for herbaceous plants is expected to last longer than usual, potentially extending into the summer months.
