The incident occurred shortly before 6:45 PM within the municipality of Monistrol de Montserrat. For reasons still under investigation, the car left the road and overturned on its side.
The driver and sole occupant, identified as Julià Hinojosa, was the partner of the local mayor's mother. Emergency services, including the Mossos d'Esquadra and Firefighters, attended the scene.
This fatality brings the total number of road deaths in Catalonia to 17 since the beginning of 2026. Authorities noted that motorcyclists remain the most vulnerable group on the roads.
