Sallent bus users protest against 'insufficient' new transport plan to Barcelona

Local passengers claim the new schedule prioritizes Berga and fails to address overcrowding in their town.

Commuters in Sallent are expressing strong opposition to the Generalitat's new bus schedule for April, arguing that it fails to address the chronic overcrowding on the line to Barcelona.

The new proposal focuses on increasing direct services from Berga, but most of these buses will not stop in Sallent. As the last stop before reaching the city, local residents often find buses already at full capacity, a situation they describe as unsustainable given the lack of train alternatives in the area.

"We feel abandoned. The main problem is that the service has remained the same for a decade while users have increased significantly."

The platform, led by former senator Mirella Cortès, has requested an urgent meeting with the Directorate General of Transport. They demand the restoration of morning reinforcements and better weekend frequencies to match the current demand of the Bages region's commuters.
