Sant Fruitós opens registration for 2026 Rice Cooking Contest

Interested parties have until February 4 to secure one of the 25 available spots for the popular Rice Festival event.

The Sant Fruitós de Bages Town Council has opened the registration period for the popular rice cooking contest, which will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with a deadline of February 4.

The registration process for the 2026 Rice Festival contest began on Friday, January 23 at 10 am and will remain open until Wednesday, February 4. To participate, registration must be formalized exclusively online.
For this edition, the organization maintains 25 spots available for groups wishing to compete. Each participating group can consist of a maximum of 20 people, promoting collective participation in the gastronomic event in Sant Fruitós.
In addition to the official competition, citizens can also participate by cooking rice out of competition in a designated area around Can Figueras. This option also requires prior online registration, selecting the corresponding option.
The full rules for both modalities, competitive and non-competitive, can be consulted on the official website of the Sant Fruitós de Bages Town Council. The festival will culminate on Sunday, February 15, 2026 with the celebration of the event.
