The events date back to the controversial session where Jordi Soteras, linked to the Aliança Catalana party, took office. During that day, protests took place at plaça Major U d'Octubre, accompanied by a significant police presence that restricted public access to the town hall.

This new legal action follows the case of former councilor Aniol Vila, who was arrested by the Mossos d'Esquadra on the day of the plenary. Vila is accused of serious resistance to authority and is scheduled to appear in the Manresa courts on March 11.
