The Santpedor Town Council has approved the Municipal Housing Action Program (PAMH) 2026-2030, which includes the transformation of the old Sant Josep residence into a co-housing space for the elderly.

This new residential alternative aims to address the aging population in Santpedor. The plan, developed with support from the Barcelona Provincial Council, outlines 33 specific actions to be implemented over the next four years, including the mobilization of empty properties to increase the local affordable housing supply.

"Housing is a right, and public policies must believe in it and invest."

Marijó Aubarell Cruz · Housing Councilor
The ERC-led government emphasized that the program was discussed with opposition groups to ensure a coordinated response to local needs. Key goals include improving the quality of the existing housing stock and providing support for residents in vulnerable situations within the Bages region.
