Severe winds close AP-7 highway and suspend train services in Southern Catalonia

Storm Oriana has disrupted mobility on the AP-7 highway this Saturday in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant and forced the suspension of the R16 train line due to severe wind gusts.

Traffic on the AP-7 highway is currently blocked heading north after a truck overturned due to strong winds near l'Hospitalet de l'Infant. The Catalan Transit Service has implemented diversions to the N-340 and banned heavy trucks over 7.5 tons between l'Arboç and Ulldecona.
In addition to the main accident, fallen trees have forced road closures in l'Ametlla de Mar. The weather conditions are also affecting the A-7 in Vandellòs, where one lane is closed. Authorities advise extreme caution for those traveling across Catalonia today.
Regarding rail transport, Renfe has halted R16 line trains between Tortosa and l'Aldea-Amposta. The Mediterranean Corridor is also experiencing cancellations between Castellón and Valencia following red alerts issued by Aemet for hurricane-force winds.
