Six-year prison sentence sought for nightclub assault in Manresa

A man faces a potential six-year prison sentence following a violent altercation during the early hours of December 4, 2022, at a nightlife venue in the Trullols Industrial Estate in Manresa.

According to the prosecution, the incident took place on the nightclub's terrace when the defendant reacted violently after being confronted about his behavior. The assailant struck the victim forcefully in the face, causing him to fall and sustain serious injuries.
The impact and subsequent fall resulted in a fractured tibia and fibula, as well as the loss of an incisor tooth. The victim required 120 days to recover, including five days of hospitalization, and has been left with permanent physical consequences.
The Prosecutor's Office has classified the incident as an aggravated crime of causing bodily harm. In addition to the prison term, they are requesting 16,500 euros in compensation and a two-year restraining order following the sentence.
The trial is scheduled to take place this Tuesday at the third section of the Barcelona Provincial Court.
