Teachers in Central Catalonia began a strike this Wednesday morning with strategic road blocks in Manresa to demand significant improvements in the public education system.

The mobilization started early in the morning, causing major traffic disruptions. Protesters blocked key access points including the Vic road, Pujada Roja, and several sections of the C-55, C-16c, and C-25 highways, affecting commuters in the Bages region.
Beyond the road blocks, union delegates spent the night occupying the Department of Education headquarters in Manresa. This action followed a meeting with the regional director, Saray Gómez, on Tuesday afternoon as a prelude to the general walkout.
Protest actions are expected to continue throughout the morning. The main event is scheduled for 12:30 PM, with a large gathering at the Congost sports area followed by a march through the center of Manresa.
