Teachers in Central Catalonia, Lleida, and Alt Pirineu are holding a strike this Wednesday to demand better working conditions and higher wages from the Government.

Protests began on Tuesday evening when educators blocked the main road between Vic and Manresa. Additionally, a group of teachers occupied the Education Department headquarters in Manresa to increase pressure ahead of the official strike day.
This regional strike follows a massive demonstration on February 11th, which saw 70,000 teachers protesting across Catalonia. Unions are calling for improvements beyond the current agreement signed by CCOO and UGT.
