Teachers from Central Catalonia blocked the main entrances to Manresa this Wednesday, March 18, causing major traffic disruptions on the C-55 highway during a day of educational protests.

The protest began early in the morning with a blockade on the C-55, resulting in five-kilometer traffic jams. Protesters had previously spent the night at the Department of Education regional headquarters in Manresa to voice their dissatisfaction with recent government agreements.

"It is shameful that a trainee police officer earns more than Catalan teachers."

Key demands include reducing classroom ratios to better support student diversity and cutting down on administrative tasks. The demonstration also highlighted social issues, stopping at a local housing protest to support students facing eviction.
