The presentation took place at the international tourism fair in Madrid and included the launch of a new website and a promotional video. The goal of the Association of Municipalities of the Ignatian Way (AMCI) is to promote the culture, gastronomy, and nature along the 650 kilometers separating the Basque town of Azpeitia from the capital of Bages, Manresa.
The ten proposals are designed to be enjoyed from Friday to Sunday and cover the entire route. Destinations include the Head of the Ignatian Way (in Guipúzcoa), the Alavese Mountain, the Vineyards of the Ignatian Way, and the End of the Ignatian Way, which is the most developed route along with the first.
The Ignatian Way is the trendy inland destination: one path, ten destinations, and a thousand different ways to experience it.
The new web portal, initially only in Spanish but set to expand to Catalan, Basque, French, and English, welcomes visitors with a guide generated by artificial intelligence (AI). This bearded character transforms into the pilgrim Ignatius of Loyola, with the Basilica of Santa Maria (La Seu) in Manresa emerging behind him, as it was when Ignatius arrived there in 1522.
The End of the Ignatian Way route begins on Friday in Òdena, offering views of the Anoia region and the Roman villa of L'Espelt, and continues in Igualada, visiting the Rec district. Saturday focuses on El Bruc, with the Millenary Route, and in the afternoon, in Manresa, visitors tour the Baroque Museum of Catalonia and the Sanctuary of the Cave of Saint Ignatius. Sunday is reserved for the Basilica of Santa Maria and the Parc de l’Agulla.
