The 29th edition of the Fira de l'Aixada in Manresa has introduced the Mercenaries of l'Aixada, a new itinerant group formed by veteran reenactors of the local festival.

While the group is new to the schedule, its fourteen members are well-known faces at the fair. Some have participated in every edition for the past 29 years. The group, which travels with a Great Dane, specializes in historical combat reenactments across Europe when not performing in Manresa.

"Before we were at the Viking camp, and this year we are roaming the fair, interacting with other groups or among ourselves."

In addition to their roaming performances, they continue their traditional role as the escort for Bishop Sacosta, donning full armor for the task. Their inclusion adds a dynamic element to the historical atmosphere in the Bages region.
