The Fira Mediterrània in Manresa reaches its 29th edition, scheduled from October 15th to 18th, with a special focus on participation in popular culture. The artistic and professional program will unfold across approximately twenty venues in the city, featuring a significant presence of entities and artists from the Bages region. This territorial support is also reflected in the sponsorship from the Club Mecenes and Cervesa Guineu.
The artistic program includes the participation of the human tower group Colla Castellera dels Tirallongues de Manresa and Xàldiga Taller de Festes. Xàldiga will organize a popular beast parade on Sunday, October 18th, featuring various figures such as the Gàrgola de Manresa and the Griu d’Artesa de Lleida. The Tirallongues will host a human tower performance on Saturday, October 17th, alongside Castellers de Cornellà and Castellers de Santpedor.
Within the realm of popular culture, the Fair commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Pubilleta dels Geganters de Manresa with an exhibition at the Espai 7 of the Centre Cultural el Casino. Additionally, on Sunday, October 18th, the choir Cor inCORdis and the Banda Simfònica del Conservatori Municipal de Música de Manresa will present the concert Vents de revolta in Plaça Sant Domènec. Popular culture groups from the region will also perform in the participatory show Sarau! by Xuriach and Coral Sinera, on Saturday, October 17th, in Plaça Neus Català.
On a professional level, dancer Sònia Serra will perform with the dance company Radicel·la, premiering the piece Repic on Thursday and Friday at Plaça Europa. The Fair also collaborates with entities such as Tradiball Endansa, organizer of Humus Mediterrani, and Cases de la Música, which supports emerging musical groups.
The 2026 edition of Firaescoles will feature family-oriented shows by El Pony Menut, Brodas Bros, and La Curiosa, involving 1,169 students from 12 educational centers in the Bages region. Students from the Higher Vocational Training Cycle in Sociocultural and Tourist Animation at IES Guillem Catà will undertake internships during the Fair, and artists' meals will be provided at the Escola Renaixença dining hall.
The Fair will utilize various city spaces, including squares, streets, and venues like the Teatre Kursaal and Teatre Conservatori. This year, new spaces such as the Pati de l’Edifici Infants and the Centre Cívic Casal Les Escodines are being incorporated, and the restaurant Globus will be revived as a performance venue. Professionally, activities will include a wine tasting from the DO Pla de Bages and guided tours.
Collaboration with the business community includes sponsorship from Cervesa Guineu, which will lend its name to the Tavern located in the Jardí del Casino and Plaça Sant Domènec. The Club Mecenes brings together support from Gestoria Babià, the company Denso, the newspaper Regió 7, Urbi Apartaments, Remsa, the dental clinic Raga, travel agency Viatges Concord, insurance group Santasusana, the Fundació Universitària del Bages (FUB), and Monavi.
