The 42nd Transéquia walk, scheduled for March 15, will dedicate its solidarity collection to the "Comunitats que curen" project by Caminant Plegats en el Dol to fight unwanted loneliness in Manresa and the Bages region.

The jury, meeting at the Manresa City Council, decided that the "Comunitats que curen" (Communities that heal) project, promoted by the collective Caminant Plegats en el Dol, would be the winner of the contest to assign the solidarity euro of the 42nd Transéquia 2026. This initiative was established in 1999 to offer grief support in Central Catalonia.
The main objective of the project is to promote the social inclusion of vulnerable people and combat unwanted loneliness in both Manresa and the Bages region. The methodology combines emotional support with community activities, walks in natural environments, and cultural proposals.

The jury particularly valued the project's coherence with the spirit of the Transéquia: walking, nature, and community.

These tools are designed to generate solid bonds, reinforce emotional well-being, and create stable support networks, especially for those going through grieving processes or facing difficulties in social integration. The decision ensures that the euro contributed by each participant in the walk is entirely dedicated to this cause of local impact.
The Transéquia is a popular and festive walk that follows the historic route of the Séquia canal, connecting Balsareny and Manresa. Last year, the solidarity prize went to the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients of Bages, Berguedà, Moianès and Solsonès, which raised a total of 3169 euros.
