Sallent Loses at Home to Balàfia with Two Set-Piece Goals

Sallent suffered a 1-2 defeat at home against Balàfia from Lleida, a direct rival, conceding two goals from set pieces in the final minutes of the match, which places them in fourth position in the standings.

This loss marks only the second home defeat for the Bages team this season. Despite the result, Sallent still has a pending match, which they will play this Friday against Alcarràs.
The match began with a slight visitor dominance, but Sallent quickly took the initiative, creating the first clear opportunities. Marc Manzano and Iker Sánchez tested the opposing goalkeeper, Oro, who responded with good saves. The home team maintained possession and chances, while Balàfia only approached with quick transitions and long balls.
With ten minutes remaining in the first half, Sallent opened the scoring. A through ball from Aitor Montañá found Alex Arenas, who outpaced the Lleida defense and beat the goalkeeper with a chip, putting the home side ahead.
In the second half, Balàfia came out with a more offensive attitude, seeking an equalizer. After some approaches, Edgar Pla managed to level the score in the 58th minute, heading in a corner kick. From that moment on, the match became more balanced, with both teams looking for the win, although the visitors had a slight dominance, without creating many clear chances.
With just two minutes left in regular time, Balàfia sealed the match with the definitive 1-2. Leandro González headed in a lateral free-kick, securing the three points for his team. Sallent tried to react to find an equalizer, but time ran out, and they were left empty-handed.
