The Sant Fruitós de Bages City Council invites citizens to an informative session on Thursday, February 5 at the Nexe – Espai de Cultura to detail the implementation of the first Municipal Energy Community.

The Sant Fruitós de Bages council promotes this new consumption model to facilitate access to renewable energy generated from municipally owned photovoltaic installations. The main goal is to transform how the municipality produces, manages, and consumes energy, moving towards a more decentralized, democratic, and sustainable system.
The initiative is based on three key pillars: the shared self-consumption photovoltaic installation, located at the covered court of the Monsenyor Gibert School; a digital platform that will centralize consumption and generation data; and a manager dedicated to the administrative and energy management of the project.
The City Council will act as the promoter and owner of the installations, encouraging citizen participation. Once the management systems are operational, a public tender will be opened to allow individuals and entities located within two kilometers of the installation to apply to join the Energy Community.
