The expansion of the video surveillance system in Pineda de Bages, within Sant Fruitós de Bages, will include the installation of three new strategic points. These new locations will be situated on Carrer de l’Alzina, Carrer de la Verge de Juncadella, and in Sant Iscle.
The new points will be equipped with license plate reading cameras, similar to the three already operational in the urbanization, as well as environmental cameras providing a general view of the surroundings. Furthermore, the three existing surveillance points, which currently only have license plate readers, will be upgraded with environmental cameras.
Once the work is completed, Pineda de Bages will have a total of six comprehensive video surveillance points, enhancing coverage and supervision of access points and key areas.
The City Council has commissioned the necessary technical study for the execution of these works, with a budget of 4,200 euros. The installation of the new devices and the upgrade of existing points are planned for the 2027 fiscal year.
This initiative follows through on a commitment announced last July, following a rise in burglaries, which included increasing police presence and studying the expansion of security devices.
