The agreement highlights the shared commitment to defend the interests of the residents of Pineda de Bages and to work towards a solution that balances the objectives of the Via Verda with adequate mobility for residents in the surrounding municipalities.
One of the main demands is that the Sant Fruitós de Bages City Council will formally request detailed information from the Manresa City Council regarding the approved project, traffic studies, the provisional or definitive nature of the measure, and the ownership of the affected section.
The motion also proposes the creation of a working group involving the city councils of Manresa, Santpedor, Castellnou de Bages, and Sant Fruitós de Bages, as well as affected neighborhood associations.
Additionally, it is proposed to monitor traffic impact on alternative routes while a consensual solution is sought, sharing peak hour traffic data with the affected municipalities.
The change in traffic direction on the Santpedor road prevents vehicles coming from Pineda de Bages from directly accessing Manresa, forcing the use of alternative routes that concentrate traffic and increase travel times.
The Sant Fruitós de Bages City Council considers it essential to address this issue through dialogue and cooperation between administrations, with the participation of the affected municipalities and neighborhood associations.
The motion also requests the Consell Comarcal del Bages to facilitate dialogue among the affected municipalities within its cooperation and coordination functions.
