The Cambrils Local Police celebrated its 70th anniversary with a special event at Parc Samà, recognizing the work of officers, collaborators, and other police forces.

The Cambrils City Council celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Local Police with an institutional event at Parc Samà. During the day, distinctions, police merit medals, and commendations were awarded to members of the police force, as well as to collaborators from other forces, administrations, citizens, and municipal staff for their dedication and meritorious actions.
The Mayor of Cambrils, Oliver Klein, thanked the officers for their "constancy, rigor, and sense of service," emphasizing that "a city's safety does not depend solely on major operations. It is built every day, at any hour, with constant, rigorous, and close work." Klein highlighted the reinforcement of the force with new officers and corporals, the recovery of a specific beach patrol, and the commitment to work on the new police station and improve resources.
For his part, the Head of the Local Police, Carles Besora, recalled the 70 years of the force's history, stating that "the badge we wear on our chest does not place us above the citizens, it places us at their service." He emphasized the vocation, commitment, and responsibility involved in police work.
“

"The badge we wear on our chest does not place us above the citizens, it places us at their service, and perhaps this is one of the greatest responsibilities of being a police officer: to have the strength to act and, at the same time, the serenity to know how, when, and why to do it."

Commendations were given to a dozen members of the Cambrils police force, as well as to commanders from the Mossos d’Esquadra in Cambrils, the National Police in Reus, the Civil Guard in Tarragona, and the Urban Guard in Tarragona for actions related to drug trafficking offenses, road safety, robberies, child protection, and assistance to people.
Three units of the Local Police were also recognized: the Operational Resources Unit, the Mobility and Material Resources Unit, and the Motorized Territorial Unit. Furthermore, the involvement of the Servei Català de Trànsit, the Dirección General de Tráfico, the senior prosecutor of Reus, the Cambrils Port's harbormaster, a cardiologist, and staff from various City Council departments were acknowledged.
Finally, four loyalty medals were presented for 25 years of uninterrupted service to a sub-inspector, a corporal, and two officers. The police merit medal in bronze was also awarded to two sergeants, a corporal, and an officer for their outstanding professional careers.
The event was attended by the government's sub-delegate in Tarragona, Elisabet Romero; the Director General of Coordination of Local Police Forces, Daniel Llimones; the Councilor for Citizen Security, Antonio Martínez, and other authorities and police commanders.
