The Cambrils City Council has reactivated the elevator at the Mare de Déu del Camí Hermitage, which was inoperative for a year, investing 6,494 euros to ensure accessibility before the Christmas concert.

The installation, which had been halted due to technical problems for a year, required an investment of 6,494 euros plus VAT by the Cambrils City Council for its overhaul and adaptation. Moving forward, maintenance is included in the general contract for municipal facilities.

"The hermitage is a space much loved by the people of Cambrils and must be accessible to everyone, without exception."

Oliver Klein · Mayor of Cambrils
The elevator will be operational for the Christmas concert offered by the Coral Verge del Camí and the Coral Jove at the hermitage on Sunday, December 21. This repair addresses a long-standing demand from people with reduced mobility who visit the historic site.
The repair is framed within the agreement signed last October between the council and the Parish of Santa Maria. This agreement stipulates that the parish cedes the garden free of charge, and the City Council assumes the maintenance and management costs of the space for 15 years, renewable.
