The Consell Comarcal del Baix Camp has favorably resolved 5,826 school meal aid applications for the 2026-2027 academic year, representing 76.30% of the 7,635 requests submitted in the region, including Reus.
There are still pending applications due to missing documentation, and new applications submitted outside the deadline or due to unforeseen circumstances will continue to be processed throughout the year.
The total amount allocated for these grants is 6,978,256.55 euros. Of this, 4,433,361.69 euros are for students in Reus, while the remaining 2,544,894.86 euros are distributed among the other municipalities in Baix Camp.
These grants are funded by the Departament d'Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya, through a collaboration agreement with the Consell Comarcal del Baix Camp, which is responsible for managing the call and awarding of individual school meal aid.
The aid is aimed at students in certain socioeconomic situations enrolled in publicly funded educational centers in Catalonia, who do not have free school meals, are not in residential care, and regularly use the service, meeting the established economic and social criteria.
