The entity Bravium Teatre was responsible for hoisting the city's flag to the highest point of the main pinnacle of the Prioral de Sant Pere bell tower, one of the most symbolic and emotional acts of the Sant Pere Festival. Municipal representatives accompanied the members of Bravium Teatre during the hoisting.
Representatives of the Reus-based entity were honored with this responsibility as part of their 75th anniversary and in recognition of their long trajectory and contribution to the city's cultural and associative fabric.
The flag hoisting on the bell tower is a tradition closely linked to the events preceding the main festival and symbolizes the beginning of the most intense celebration days in honor of the city's patron saint.
Bravium Teatre, a benchmark for amateur theater and cultural dynamism in Reus, has participated over the years in numerous festive, theatrical initiatives, and in the recovery of the city's popular traditions. This recognition values the work carried out by members and collaborators who have helped keep the entity's activities alive and its commitment to Reus.
The Sant Pere Festival will officially commence this Wednesday, June 24, the feast day of Saint John, with the reading of the Festival Proclamation, delivered by writer Coia Valls. Following the event, the Tro de Festa award will be presented.
Subsequently, Coia Valls will lead the traditional 'Crida a la Festa' (Call to the Festival) from the City Hall balcony and will be responsible for lighting the Tronada (fireworks).
