Around forty professionals from the barbering, hairdressing, and aesthetics sectors offered their services last Sunday at the port of Cambrils, during the tenth edition of the solidarity campaign “Deixa’t prendre el pèl”. The event successfully raised a total of €13,258, designated for the Autisme Cambrils Association.
The funds were raised through donations from sponsors and individuals, as well as money collected during the event from the sale of 658 tickets for barbering, hairdressing, and massage services, offered voluntarily by 43 professionals. Additionally, 120 tickets were sold for boat trips and 30 for bachata classes, alongside income from the bar service, donations, and merchandise sales.
The collected funds will be used to support the projects and services that the Autisme Cambrils Association develops for individuals with autism and their families. The organization, which currently supports about 70 families in the locality, was established in January 2024 with the aim of ensuring no family feels alone when facing daily challenges and promoting a more accessible and diverse-respecting environment.
The Autisme Cambrils Association promotes various initiatives such as a noise-free fair, adapted workshops, aquatic therapy, a parents' school, and autism conferences. Currently, they are working on the II Autism Conferences, a road visibility project, an occupational workshop, the 'Embarca’t' project, a music therapy workshop, and a canine therapy workshop.
