The arrest occurred after several Mossos d'Esquadra patrols detected the vehicle's extremely dangerous driving on the AP-7 motorway. The driver covered a total of 36 kilometers at a speed exceeding 200 km/h, ignoring police signals to stop.
Given the serious threat to the safety of other road users, officers had to activate a controlled retention device. This maneuver finally allowed the motorcyclist to be intercepted near Reus, the capital of Baix Camp.
Once stopped, the driver was subjected to drug detection tests, yielding a positive result. In addition to the crime of reckless driving, the motorcyclist was charged with other potential offenses related to road safety and for an incident during the arrest in which an officer was injured.
