El Miró Gran Reserva, produced by Miró Vermouth in Reus, has been crowned the world's best vermouth at the prestigious World Drinks Awards 2026, held in London.

The award, presented in early June, places the Reus-based brand at the pinnacle of the sector and consolidates the prestige of the Catalan vermouth tradition. The general director of Miró Vermouth, Montserrat Caelles, has described the award as "one of the significant milestones in the company's history" and a moment that "will mark a before and after".
This international accolade comes after El Miró Gran Reserva was already distinguished as the best vermouth in Catalonia at the Premis Vinari in 2025. The World Drinks Awards competition features products from various categories of alcoholic and spirit beverages worldwide. The vermouth from Reus had previously been awarded as the best in the sweet vermouth category before securing the overall prize at the gala held at the Waldorf Hilton in London.
The company's management received the news with surprise, as they were only aware of being finalists. El Miró Gran Reserva is a premium vermouth crafted through a long process of maceration and aging in French oak barrels, noted for its aromas of wood, vanilla, nuts, and Mediterranean herbs.
Caelles believes the award validates the company's quality strategy, focused on continuous improvement and product excellence. She also highlighted the evolution of vermouth consumption habits, which have expanded beyond the traditional aperitif to include mixed drinks and other occasions, positioning El Miró Gran Reserva as an option for after-dinner enjoyment.
