Following Calafell's protest of the first match, which resulted in a 0-10 loss for Reus Deportiu due to the improper lineup of player Carles Casas, the red-and-black team needed a win in the second encounter to keep their playoff hopes alive. The federation's decision had caused discontent among Reus fans, who felt their rival was seeking victory off the court.
Ultimately, the match at the Palau d'Esports proceeded without significant incidents, marked by a loud initial booing directed at Calafell. Reus Deportiu secured a sporting victory with a 2-0 score, with goals from Guillem Jansà via penalty in the 21st minute and Martí Casas in the 44th minute, thus forcing the third and final game of the series.
Carles Casas' participation was made possible after the Reus club urgently processed the player's registration change. The game was intense from the start, with early clashes that heated the atmosphere. Despite evenly distributed chances and saves from goalkeepers Martí Serra (Calafell) and Càndid Ballart (Reus), the score only changed in the second half.
The third match, decisive for advancing to the next round of the OK Liga title playoffs, will be held on Tuesday at the Pavelló Joan Ortoll.
After the game concluded, a tribute was paid to two players who will not continue with Reus Deportiu next season: Martí Casas, after three seasons, and Roger Fargas from the reserve team, who is starting a new chapter in the French league. Both received recognition from the fans and their teammates.
