The Bombers de la Generalitat continue working this Sunday in Reus to fully extinguish the fire that started Saturday morning in a frozen food industrial warehouse, which required the precautionary evacuation of 44 residents.

The fire, which broke out on Carrer de l’Alcalde Pasqual, mainly affects the interior insulation of the roof, which is covered by metal sheeting. Although the fire was stabilized on Saturday, the complexity of the focus within the structure prevents its complete extinction.
The emergency call was received at 06:17 AM on Saturday, activating a large operation that initially involved 17 Bombers units. They worked from the exterior, using aerial ladders and compartmentalizing the fire to prevent spread to the adjacent warehouse.
Due to persistent smoke and the risk of wall collapse following the roof failure, 44 neighbors were preventively evacuated overnight. These residents were allowed to return to their homes on Sunday morning, advised to keep windows closed and avoid accessing interior patios.

The main objective is to continue containing the fire and definitively put out the flames. Specialized machinery is being arranged to dismantle the warehouse roof and access the focus, ensuring total extinction.

Currently, nine units remain on site, using water to cool the structure and reduce the intense smoke, which has been visible across the city of Reus. No injuries have been reported, and the causes of the incident remain under investigation.
