The Fire Department and Guàrdia Urbana responded this Saturday, March 21st, to a gas leak in Raval de Jesús, Reus, which required the street to be closed to traffic.

Emergency services were alerted shortly before 10:00 AM after neighbors and passersby reported a strong smell of gas near number 36 of the central street. Three fire crews and several police patrols arrived to secure the perimeter and manage the situation.
Residents of the building evacuated voluntarily while Firefighters inspected the premises. After confirming there was no dangerous accumulation of gas inside, crews ventilated the property by opening doors and windows to ensure safety.
The leak was identified as originating from the street. Once the supply was shut off, the gas company was notified to carry out repairs. Authorities confirmed that no individuals suffered from gas inhalation or required medical attention.
