The Catalan Government expects to officially approve the creation of the Prades Mountains, Poblet, and Serra de la Llena Natural Park by the summer of 2024.

The final protected area will encompass 38,900 hectares, a reduction from the initial 43,700 hectares planned. A total of 22 municipalities will be included in the park's jurisdiction, following recent boundary adjustments.
The towns of Porrera and Juncosa have been excluded from the final proposal. To ensure local representation, the government will establish a mayors' council and increase local participation in the park's Governing Board.
The project is scheduled to be published in the DOGC (Official Gazette) this March, opening a period for public consultation and legal challenges before the final approval in the coming months.
