The incident occurred at 6:17 AM when a fire broke out in a dwelling located on Passeig de Prim. Five units from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Generalitat Firefighters) were dispatched to the scene.
Residents of the building, which comprises a ground floor and eleven upper floors, had already self-evacuated to the exterior of the property by the time emergency services arrived.
Firefighters proceeded to extinguish the flames and subsequently carried out inspection and ventilation of all floors in the building to ensure safety.
The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) (Medical Emergency System) also deployed an ambulance. Paramedics attended to the person affected by the fire and transferred them to Hospital Sant Joan de Reus in a less serious condition.
