The fire in Salou broke out yesterday afternoon/evening, shortly after 7:30 PM, in an apartment on Berenguer de Palou street, on the fourth floor of a building. The fire originated in the kitchen and ravaged several rooms, leaving the dwelling completely uninhabitable. Initially, there was speculation that someone might be trapped inside, but firefighters quickly ruled out this possibility.
The three residents of the apartment managed to escape in time, although they suffered smoke inhalation. They were attended by the SEM (Emergency Medical System) and later transferred to Joan XXIII hospital. The fire was quickly brought under control, but the material damage was considerable.
The second fire occurred early Sunday morning in Reus, around 6 AM. The blaze occurred in an apartment on the third floor of a building on Sant Llorenç street. In this case, one person inhaled smoke and required medical attention. This fire was also controlled and extinguished in less than an hour.
