The demonstration, convened by the Zeroport platform and supported by more than 200 social, neighborhood, and environmental entities, comes just days after the Council of Ministers approved Aena's investment plan until 2031. This investment includes improvements to existing terminals, compensatory measures, the extension of the third runway, and the construction of a new terminal.
Under the slogan "No to the expansion, not now, not ever", the protest brought together several columns from different parts of the metropolitan area and city neighborhoods, who arrived at the meeting point on foot, by bicycle, or using public transport.

Zeroport strongly criticizes what it considers "climate denialism" by the Spanish government, the Generalitat, and Aena, arguing that the airport expansion is incompatible with climate neutrality commitments. Environmental organizations have indicated that this expansion could lead to a 22% increase in CO2 emissions and that European airports might double the limits set by the European Union within seven years.
Furthermore, a lack of transparency in the approval process of Aena's investment plan has been criticized, with parties and entities opposing the project lamenting not having received official communications and that decisions were made "behind the territory's back".
The demonstration began at midday from the Passeig de Gràcia with Aragó station, also denouncing the state of Rodalies (commuter rail). Later, a march of tractors and bicycles joined from Plaça d'Espanya, advocating for the role of agriculture in the Llobregat delta and the use of bicycles, concluding at Plaça de Sant Jaume.
